Delay - Rushing Ceremony LP (Cover art not particularly safe for work), a photo by Tim PopKid on Flickr.
Long awaited (by me anyway) follow up to their last LP, Plain Language, Rushing ceremony sees Delay further developing their sound. They've slowed things down a bit focusing more on their indie pop side than on their pop punk stylings. The result is quite a treat. So many bands seem to lose their energy when they try to adjust the tempo of their songs, but Delay manage to still capture an incredible amount of enthusiasm and jam it into their songs. The vocals are the real highlight on this album as Delay employs harmonies and backing vocals better than about 90% of the bands currently putting out records.
I will say that I don't like or really get the artwork, but I hope it doesn't keep anyone from checking out this great, great record.
