No Yes (2011)
Cold Warps are a band that I stumbled across all sorts of ass backwards. Dirtnap Records posted a link to a review of their new Legendary Wings album, so I clicked the link to read that review. The writer compared Legendary Wings to a number of bands, one of which was Cold Warps. I had never even heard of them, so I decided to check them out. And here we are.
Cold Warps play a high on treble, big on speed brand of jangle guitar pop that I just love. They most closely remind me of the band The Yolks for their ability to simply rifle through songs at an fast clip, but still manage to sneak in all of the right hooks and melodies. This LP is their first 2 demo tapes pressed to vinyl. Other than a couple 7"s (which have also been purchased, watch for their pictures soon) that is all the band has released so far. I'd be shocked if they weren't working on their first proper full length and I'll be in line day of to buy it once it comes out.
